Generous Individual Instruction
Piano participants receive three 40-minute individual masterclasses with festival faculty, tailored to their repertoire and artistic goals, and supported by focused coaching throughout the week.Violin participants also receive three 40-minute individual masterclasses as well as two chamber music rehearsals, promoting both individual and ensemble development.
A Unique Practice and Performance Environment
Thanks to our partner institutions in Hamburg – Junge Musikakademie Hamburg, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, and Klangmanufaktur Hamburg – participants enjoy an outstanding artistic setting. 24-hour practice rooms are available, and participants can rehearse and perform on full-size Steinway D pianos in both teaching rooms and concert halls.Piano Accompaniment
Violinists may receive piano accompaniment during the masterclass, competition preparation, and Winners’ Recital, upon request.A Festival Centered on Performance
This is not a lesson-only program. Each participant is guided toward meaningful stage experience, including a Festival Participant Recital, performance coaching, and opportunities to build confidence, communication, and artistry. -
Languages & Translation Support
Festival faculty speak multiple languages. For participants requiring assistance, a translation program is available to help fully engage in lessons and festival activities.Professional Video Recording – Included
To support auditions, portfolios, and artistic documentation, professional video recording of the Participant Recital and the Winners’ Recital is provided at no additional cost.Competition Entry Included
Festival participants receive competition entry at no extra cost, with selected prize winners invited to perform in the Winners’ Recital.Access for Families or Teachers
One parent/guardian or one teacher per participant is welcome to attend the festival events. All participants also receive free admission to the Faculty Recital. -

Welcome!
Our solo competition for violin and piano is open to young talents from all nations, ranging from the very youngest to 19 years old.
General Regulations:
Filming or photography during the competition is strictly prohibited.
Sonus Musicorum may take photos, audio, and video recordings of participants for festival documentation and promotional purposes (print media, website, social media) without compensation.
I understand that I may be required to provide valid proof of age upon request by the competition organizers.
At the end of the competition, each participant will receive a suggestion / feedback form.
The jury’s decision is final and cannot be appealed.
By registering or participating, the participant (or parent/guardian) agrees to these regulations.
Age Groups:
AG 1: born in 2020 or later
AG 2: born in 2018–2019
AG 3: born in 2016–2017
AG 4: born in 2013–2015
AG 5: born in 2010–2012
AG 6: born in 2007–2009
Program Guidelines:
AG 1: Free choice of program, up to 5 minutes
AG 2: Free choice of program, 5–7 minutes
AG 3: Free choice of program, up to 7 minutes
AG 4: Free choice of program, up to 10 minutes
AG 5: Program must include works from two different musical periods, freely selected, up to 12 minutes
AG 6: Program must include works from two different musical periods, freely selected, up to 15 minutes
Please Note:
Program changes are only allowed by email until June 10.
All pieces must be performed from memory, except works composed after 1950.
Please bring one copy of the score for works composed after 1950.
When preparing your program, ensure that the minimum duration is met and the maximum time limit is not exceeded.
